Elden Ring Nightreign currently has eight Nightfarers for you to get to know and learn to use, and is is to be expected, some fan-favourites have quickly emerged. The highly-agile Duchess and her brilliant Restage mechanic are one such popular Nightfarer, and I can’t blame them. Her ability to pull off and double the damage of any ailment stacks is, simply put, great.

To make the most of the Duchess, we recommend completing her Remembrance quest to earn some Relics catered to her kit, and then looking at our Duchess build guide. To help you with the former, however, here’s our Elden Ring Nightreign Duchess Remembrance quest walkthrough.

Elden Ring Nightreign Duchess Remembrance quest walkthrough

The Duchess’ Remembrance quest in Nightreign consists of four separate Remembrance events, making it one of the more involved quests in the game. On top of that, you’ll want to make sure you have unlocked Duchess.

Duchess Remembrance #1

The Duchess first Remembrance event in Nightreign is part of Chapter 3 of her section of the Journal, which becomes available as soon as you have unlocked her (which you can do after your first few runs, or by defeating Tricephalos).

Begin the Remembrance event via the Journal and go speak to Raider in the centre of the Hold. After this, talk to Wylder, who you can find by looking for a yellow exclamation mark on your map.

Speak to Raider again after visiting Wylder, and you’ll then be given your first personal objective of ‘find armament maintenance materials in Limveld.’ You can view any personal objectives in the Journal, and must be in the Remembrance when embarking on an Expedition to be able to complete it, so go and do that!

Upon landing in Limveld, open up your map and look for a red-orange quest marker (shown above). If you head over there, you’ll have to fight three Guardians of the Dew. They aren’t too bad, but make sure to bring along your teammates for an easier time (or try completing the objective on Day 2).

After felling the Guardians, look for a glowing legendary item in the area you fought them and pick it up. This will be the ‘Golden Dew’ item (shown above), and you can now finish your Expedition as you usually would.

Once back in the Hold, speak to Wylder and hand over the Golden Dew to him. He’ll give you some Faded Iron Coins as a reward.

Up next, speak to Raider, and then go and speak to Revenant in the garden.

Last, but not least, speak to the Iron Menial near the Visual Codex and ask about the Wylder’s condition. Once you’ve finished talking to him, you’ll be able to exit the Remembrance. Your reward for this will be the Golden Dew Relic.

Duchess Remembrance #2

Duchess’ second Remembrance event in Nightreign is unlocked during Chapter 5 of her portion of the Journal. If you’re yet to unlock this, go ahead and complete some more Expeditions as Duchess until the Journal is updated.

Once the Remembrance is available, enter it, look to the right of the table in the centre of the Hold (from where you spawn in). There’s an interactable here that tells you some powder has been spilled and to follow the footprints.

The trail of footprints leads to the kitchen, where you can tell something has recently been cooked. If you then head outside and take a right past the Executor’s painting, you’ll find Wylder slumped up against the wall.

Talk to Wylder and when offered, have some of the bread he has baked. You will receive the Pita Bread item.

After this, speak to the Iron Menial in the dressing room about Wylder’s pita bread for a very interesting reveal. You will be able to exit the Remembrance after this, and will be rewarded with the Duchess’ Chalice.

Duchess Remembrance #3

Duchess’ third Remembrance event is part of Chapter 6 of her Journal entries. After entering the Remembrance, read the note on the table in front of you. It concludes with ‘I await you at the shore’ which implies we should no doubt visit there, but we’ve one thing to do first.

Open your map and there will be two exclamation marks now; go to the closest one, the kitchen, and speak to the Raider. Tell him that ‘maybe we shouldn’t defeat the Nightlord’ and ask ‘about Weathervane’.

Once the Raider’s dialogue has been exhausted, make your way to the Shore and speak to Revenant. She will challenge you to a fight that you must complete (shown below).

How to defeat the Revenant in Nightreign

If you have already unlocked Revenant in Nightreign, then you’ll have already fought her as the Night Idol and know her fight isn’t too bad. That said, the fight against her on the Shore is tougher; it’s a much smaller arena and her Discus’ of Light Incantation – as well as her summons – can catch you out much more easily.

My tips for this fight would be to take down Revenant’s Page, Helen, as quickly as possible. Once that’s done, focus on taking down Pumpkin Head, Frederick. As for skeleton, Sebastian, I’d honestly leave him be and focus on attacking Revenant next; just take care to avoid his Comet Azur-like beam attack which follows you.

On top of that, if you have any Relics that boost your Holy Damage Negation or increase your attack power, I’d equip them just for this fight if you’re struggling. Any Holy Damage Negation makes the risk of being caught in one Revenant’s Discus’ of Light that little bit less likely to end your attempt.

Once Revenant has been felled, you’ll be rewarded with the Crown Medal item.

Remain in the Remembrance and go check your personal objectives under the Expeditions menu. Our dialogue with Raider earlier will have unlocked the ‘find the message in Limveld’ objective. So, you know the drill. Set out on an Expedition to Limveld and make your way to the orange-red quest marker on the map.

Upon arriving, you’ll need to fight three Fallen Mercenaries who are quite tough, so I recommend saving this for the start of Day 2 and ensuring your teammates are with you if playing in multiplayer.

After defeating the Mercenaries, interact with the glowing legendary item in the area to collect the Weathervane’s Words item. You can now finish the Expedition how you would usually.

Once you’re back in the Hold, speak to Raider and choose to show him the message. You will then be rewarded with the Double Sided Coin item and can exit the Remembrance.

Duchess Remembrance #4

Duchess’ fourth and final Remembrance event is unlocked during Chapter 8 of her Journal entries in Nightreign. If you’re yet to unlock it, embark on some more Expeditions and defeat some more Nightlords until it becomes available.

Upon entering this Remembrance, interact with the Roundtable to bless your Iron Coin, turning it into the Blessed Iron Coin item.

After that, go downstairs to the Crypt (which you can also quickly fast travel to by opening your map and selecting it) and speak to the Iron Menial here, giving him the Blessed Iron Coin.

Head back upstairs and speak to Wylder in the dressing room, telling him ‘let us defeat the Nightlord’. You then need to talk to the Iron Menial once more and will be able to exit the Remembrance.

This marks the end of Duchess’ Remembrance, meaning you’ll now unlock her Remembrance outfit and receive the Blessed Iron Coin as an equippable Relic.
